" We do it for the game ,not the money " ,
is the welcome note given on their website www.freechess.org.
FICS stands from Free Internet Chess Servers.
While browsing just came across this site a few weeks ago and ever since it had me glued to it.
According to their servers in last 10 days i have spent more than 2 days of online time playing on their server......
Although there are more than a dozen reputed chess clubs (of which around 3-4 are free others require membership)
fics has many advantages scuh as dedicated admins,tournaments and a vast variety of interface support and also they
provides online board if u want to play through the browser ;) (java applet ).
Although the registration is free but it requires you to have a non free email account (free email acc includes gmail,yahoo,msn,...) .(It keeps non dedicated chess players out ;) )
If u dont have a non free email acc you can contact the admin and get done that way ....
If u know to play chess and want to have a lil bit of fun, try playing here once and mark my words u will be addicted soon. Check out their website anyway.
Anyway blogged after a real long time ... had been
Well got to go has some FICSING to do....

lil bit of fun ... THE MM WAY
Feb. 14th, 2006 | 11:36 pm
One more boring week started as usaual..
Monday programming practicals as usual typing the same old programs again and
again .. but tht of bringin some fun to it....
Wrote a simple socket prog to accepet a client and execute whatever command
the remote user gives on the effected machine.
(Why didn i use telnet/rsh/ssh ? That' cuz no need for having root
acount and to execute the file on every bootup was even more simpler just
added the executable to .bashrc with a &)
then had a hell lot of fun rebooting pc's ;) and starting unwanted process on
other's macine (kolf :) )
Anyway itz really fun to see what all is posssible without actually requiring
root password and that 2 in a easy way;
Maybe thinkin of modifying the prog allowing it to spread by reading enteries
from /etc/export to find clients who have directories with rw permission ;)

Long Time No See

Itz really been a been a very long time since i have written a blog .
I just dont have the patience for it.
Any these days i have been experimenting with lotz of distros. Iam just gonna
rank it according to my choice . Any way there are lotz of polls available on
net if u really wannna find which distro is suitable for you.
Any way here are my 5 fav. distros from fav to most fav.->
#5 -> Mandrake 10.1
A Cool Distro with lots of useful packages and really uncool interface ;).
#4 -> Suse 9.3
A Wonder Full distro full of useful packages(including good support of
soft modems) and fancy graphics and sick designs.
#3 -> Ubuntu 5.04
A cool Debian Based distro with great feature and very cool looking
desktop . A great distro woth good packages (except multimedia) and
wonderful community.
#2 -> Debian 3.1
Mother of all distro's . A Great distro which i have been using since i
got it ;) . Great performance a very big big collection of packages.
#1 -> Fedora Core 1
The Distro i like the most. Itz the most stable distro i use for all my
Experiments ;). Useful Tools and packages ofcourse except multimedia
ones. Any the most used distro by me. (BTW fedora 2,3,4 is worse than
all other above mentioned distro's)
Anyway after all itz the kernel that matters ;) .

My personality test

| Your Personality Profile |
![]() You are elegant, withdrawn, and brilliant. Your mind is a weapon, able to solve any puzzle. You are also great at poking holes in arguments and common beliefs. For you, comfort and calm are very important. You tend to thrive on your own and shrug off most affection. You prefer to protect your emotions and stay strong. |

People use all kind of tricks to prevent spammers from
harvesting their emails. Very common one seems to be adding
a junk string to an email address and leaving instructions
which human can understand, but robot cannot. This makes
for some curious reading though, for example:
abcGARBAGE@gmail.com: Take out the GARBAGE to respond.
It sounds like somebody's nagging you to do your chores:
"Hey, take our Garbage, then you can play with the
computer!".

This is a phrase cut out from a ebook on smart computing
This are the few things we have learned....
How to configure modems.
Keyboard shortcuts
......
Getting printers to print
Wow! For all these years I was using my printer as a
fish tank, never knowing that it could actually print!
What a discovery, thanks You Smart Computing!

After mailing dozens of mail to a group to unsubscribe me from their group
atlast they unsubscribed me with the following reply ----->

"Thank you for lack of interest?" ;)

Its always fun to look into the c codes i wrote when was new to c. Here is a classic example i wrote
if(k==0)
return(k);
else
return(0);
Anyway the program will return 0
This is another mistake ...
int void main (...) { ... }
This is another of my dumb prog's
if(mm==3)
{
z ++;
}
if(mm!=3)
{
z - -;
}
else
{
z = z+2;
}
Thank goodness the compiler cant think otherwise have thought what a ass.

Just made this journal
Feb. 20th, 2005 | 11:33 pm
mood:
high
I created this journal many thanks to DP i think who may be the only person reading this (ofcourse after spaming him with my mail "I 've created a journal").... any way it took good 10 min to register the bloody image was so blur that i had to use audio file to prove that i'am a BLOODY HUMAN.
